Residential Big Trash Pickup Month Changes

Beginning in Dec., 2025, changes were made to the big trash dates due to financial reasons. Therefore, until further notice, the big trash dates for 2026 will be in April  and October. The costs associated with the amount of trash that Warr Acres residents were generating was exceeding what we were taking in, especially in regard to the landfill rates. We are working on an ordinance to change what we pay from volume to weight, and this should help the city recoup what has been lost in overages we have been paying to Waste Management. Of course, other bills have gone up in the way of gas, labor, etc. If you are need of additional pick-ups, you can call public works or city hall, and pay a small fee based on the amount of trash that is picked up. It will be measured by the sanitation workers, and pictures will be taken to ensure that you are being charged the appropriate amount. In the meantime, do not place any trash out to be picked up unless it fits in your poly cart(s).
