Recently the City’s Fire Department had a Public Protection Classification survey conducted which included an analysis of the structural fire suppression delivery system provided in our city. We are proud to say that under the leadership of Fire Chief Stephen Coy the classification rating has been raised to a 3. This is considered an excellent rating. The Public Protection Classification Program plays an important role in the underwriting process at most insurance companies. They use this information as part of their decision making when deciding what coverage to offer or prices to charge for personal or commercial property insurance. Pick up a letter from City Hall describing this information if you would like to inquire with your insurance company about the possibility of lower insurance premiums due to this rating.
