During the month of July, 2016 the City crews will be picking up big trash items at residential locations in the city. This is done by Ward, and the dates are below. If you are not sure which ward you live in check the ward maps HERE. Items must NOT be out for collection earlier than 4 days preceding
Ward 1 – Wednesday, July 6
Ward 2 – Wednesday, July 13
Ward 3 – Wednesday, July 20
Ward 4 – Wednesday, July 27
INCLUDES but is not limited to: household appliances, furniture, mattresses, fencing (up to 4 panels) and similar non-contracted items. Compressors must be removed from all appliances BEFORE collection. Doors on refrigerators and other bulky items MUST be removed.
Items EXCLUDED include hospital and medical waste, poisons, acids and caustics, explosives, dirt and rocks, sewage and liquid waste, nuclear materials, gasoline, kerosene, propane tanks, degreasers, lubricants, tires and rims, antifreeze, paint, and commercial construction debris, bricks or concrete. SIZE OF MATERIAL: Lengths not to exceed 10 feet or a weight
exceeding 250 pounds. Tree trimmings and branches must be in piles with individual branches not longer than 8 feet and dead trees not more than 6 inches in diameter.
The TOTAL amount allowed is 8 cubic yards (roughly equal to 2 full size pickup beds level with the top of the cab).
PLACEMENT AND LOCATION: Place at least 5 feet from mailboxes, cars, shrubs, or anything else that could interfere with hand loading or mechanical equipment. Items shall be placed at least 10 feet away from utility poles, guywires, signs, fire hydrants and gas meters to allow mechanized pick up.
