Project to Make Curbs More Visible
A new project in Warr Acres aims to help older drivers by making dark street corners easier to see and navigate. The first curbs to be painted were at the corner of N.W 46th Street and N. Meridian Avenue. It all began when resident Marian Edgman called city hall with her painting idea and was given the phone number of Warr Acres Beautification Committee Chairperson Jan Blake. Ms. Blake said she talked to Street Department Supervisor Bill Robertson about the possibility of the city painting the curbs. “He said there is no money in the budget for the project, so we decided to do it ourselves,” she said.

Warr Acres Welcomes Future Businesses
It is hard not to notice the construction going on in several areas of Warr Acres. Just east of NW 39th and MacArthur Mid First Bank is well underway in building a new location to service their customers. At NW 50th and Grove a strip mall is near completion with an anchor restaurant in what has been vacant land for many years. In the property just South of Hideaway Pizza on NW Expressway, Taco Bell is constructing one of their new restaurants with an opening date in the very near future. Land is also being prepared to build our first hotel in the City behind the Taco Bell. Golden Corral has purchased the rest of the land to build a new location serving their wonderful buffet. We welcome these new businesses and encourage Warr Acres residents to patronize any local business.
